Sarah Cooper and Leslie Fearn set up independent Recruitment company McGinnis Loy in 2007. They wanted to put more focus and emphasis on building strong candidate relationships.Their business grew.

As the recession hit they saw unprecedented numbers of applications and candidates seeking guidance on how to get a job in the challenging economy.

Although determined to continue to provide the high level of candidate care they strive for at Mcginnis Loy, it became impossible to assist everyone. They needed an idea.

With the changes in traditional recruitment methods and the rise in social media tools, they decided to create approachthemarket.com in 2010 to share information and guidance on successful job search and networking. This helped them meet the growing demand.
